44.

Is God the author of “good” and “evil” and responsible for doing both? (Hayır & Sher)

Bible: No       Qur'an: Yes

Jeremiah 29:11 – I know the thoughts that I think toward you... thoughts of peace, and not evil...

James 1:13 – Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man...

Al-Baqarah 2:26 – Allah leads astray many.

An-Nisa 4:78 – And if an evil befalls them say: “All is from Allah.”

Al-Ma'idah 5:14 – those who say… “we are Christians” we have stirred up enmity and hatred among them.

Al-Anbya 21:35 – We test you with evil and with good as a trial.

Note: In the Bible there are places where God allows adversity or calamity (not moral evil) to befall man: Isaiah 45:7, Jeremiah 4:6 & Amos 3:6. But Satan is seen as the author of evil: John 8:44, 1 John 3:8.
